Pure bombast: With the Transformers series, Michael Bay has a flagship for them concentrated power of blockbuster cinema created in the late 2000s and 2010s. Although the films do not have the best reputation among critics, they shake up the (home) cinema like few other works of this magnitude.

Tonight you can watch Bay’s fourth foray into the world of Autobots and Decepticons on TV. Transformers: Age of Extinction is a massive monster of a film that will give you shaken properly. Something is constantly flying into the air while metal CGI bodies clash in massive fights.

After the exit of Shia LaBeouf (parts 1-3) and Megan Fox (parts 1-2), the film presents us with the second generation of Transformers before. In Age of Extinction we meet Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) as a new hero. They are joined by Tessa (Nicola Peltz), Cade’s daughter, and her love interest Shane (Jack Reynor).

Before you know it, the trio finds themselves on the run from various parties. The CIA wants to gain control over the Autobots and sends Kelsey Grammer into battle. Stanley Tucci plays an entrepreneur who loves build your own Transformers would. And then there are always the evil Decepticons.

In Era of Extinction, Bay once again conjures up unparalleled action ecstasy and creates a deafening riot that knows no bounds. Every minute this film becomes more megalomaniacal, to the point of even Dinobots trample through the picture and bring destruction to levels never foreseen.

One awaits you here rattling endless orgy of mechanical transformations and sparks. Cities in ruins, slow motion with glossy visuals and an overwhelming roar that will resonate long after the credits roll. You can be completely blown away by Transformers: Age of Extinction.

The next film in the series is already around the corner. This time, however, it is not a live-action sequel. Instead, Transformers One explores the history of the Autobots in the form of a animated prequelswhich actually garnered some positive reviews. The film opens in cinemas on October 10, 2024.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is on tonight on October 7, 2024 at 8:15 p.m. on Kabel Eins.
