The program’s first season aired in 2004, but for the 2024 season, several major changes were made. “Idol” has always been shown on Fridays, but has now changed its broadcast time to Saturdays. The classic audition programs are also no longer shown on weekdays.
– In recent years, we have seen that the large number of episodes we have had early in the season has made it a little more difficult to find your way into “Idol”. Now we believe that by making a big weekend entertainment, the whole audience should have the opportunity to get in properly right from the start, says TV4’s channel and content director Fredrik Arefalk said according to TT.

On Saturday, October 5, it was time for the year’s final audition in “Idol” to be decided. This means that viewers are now given the main responsibility in deciding who will stay, and who will go out, during the live weekly finals.

New members of the “Idol” jury
The “Idol” judging panel is yet another aspect that has changed for the 2024 season of the show. Anders Bagge and Katia Mosally still sitting on the jury, but Kishti Tomita and Alexander Kronlund have been replaced. The artist Peg Parnevik and Avicii’s manager Ash Pournouri have instead taken their places at the jury table.

Just like previous years Pär Lernström host of “Idol”, and he has become an obvious part of the program. But this time is too Mauri Hermundsson sidekick to the popular presenter.
News24 met Pär Lernström at Kristallengalan, and asked him what he thinks about the new “Idol” jury…
The jury looks a little different this year, how do you think they’ve fared so far?
– Great. It feels like the combination of those who have been with before and the new ones still builds some kind of credibility in the jury. I’m not saying we missed it before, but we get people standing and stomping. Then it’s fun to have an artist and it’s fun to have someone who works in management.
Who is the toughest in the jury?
– But it’s Ash. So one hundred percent Ash. He is rock hard. He has a nice heart, but still, hard shell.
