An employee at Dagab in Gothenburg has been fired after a camera was found in the girls’ dressing room, reports GP.
The incident has caused great concern at the company – and several have called in sick.
– They don’t feel good psychologically from this, says an employee to the newspaper.
A security guard discovered a camera under the sink in the girls’ changing room at the company Dagab in Gothenburg last week. The employees received the message during a crisis meeting on Monday – and were met with strong reactions.
– Several girls have called in sick. They did not feel comfortable being in a workplace where filming is taking place. They don’t feel good psychologically from this, says an employee to Göteborgs-Posten.
Employee dismissed
It is unclear if any photos or videos were captured on the camera, and if so, where they were taken.
A person, who according to Dagab is behind the whole thing, has been fired.
“We obviously take it very seriously. The incident has been reported to the police, the person in question has been identified and dismissed, and all the toilets have been checked to ensure that there is no more recording equipment installed,” writes Dagab’s communications manager Marie Svaton in an email to GP.
“A place where we girls gather”
The employees will now be offered support, but the finding has caused great concern among the women at the company.
– The changing room has been a place where we girls gather. We talk, cry and laugh there. And there are girls here who wear a veil and who never show their bodies to anyone. They are worried now, says the employee the newspaper spoke to.
The police confirm that a report of offensive photography has been made.
