Quarry collapsed – dozens missing after floods in Bosnia | News in brief

Rescue officials are searching for missing flood victims in the Jablanica region of Bosnia-Herzegovina. The Balkans are ravaged by the worst floods in years.

According to the Bosnian media, at least 21 people have died and dozens are missing, especially after the flood that hit the village of Donja Jablanica.

The village is located 70 kilometers southwest of the capital Sarajevo.

The government plans to hold a press conference later today, Saturday. The situation is not clear yet, because not everyone has been reached. Rescue operations have had to be interrupted from time to time due to heavy water.

The flood damage is aggravated by the collapsed quarry on the village. Earth masses collapsed on top of cars and houses.
