Riksdag politicians have submitted 3,178 motions this autumn – more than in the last two years. However, the vast majority of them end up in the archive – without resulting in changes to the law or regulations.

Every year after the opening of the Riksdag in September, the members can submit independent motions and proposals about everything that the Riksdag can decide.

A motion can contain one or more proposals, demands. There are also more claims this year than in 2023.
