    Paid each year by the Caf, the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA) and France Travail, the Christmas bonus helps the most precarious households to cope with exceptional end-of-year expenses.

    What is the Christmas bonus?

    According to the CAF website, this is state aid paid to certain beneficiaries of minimum social benefits.

    In fact, only people benefiting from the active solidarity income (RSA), the specific solidarity allowance (ASS) and the retirement equivalent allowance (AER) can claim this bonus.

    Its amount also varies depending on the composition of the household (without children, 1 child, 2 children, 3 children, 4 children and more…).

    Last year, single people with child(ren) were able to benefit from an additional increase. A specific system, which should probably be renewed in 2024.

    The payment date of the 2024 Christmas bonus

    If no official announcement has been made, the Christmas bonus is generally paid on December 15.

    In 2024, it is very possible that the bonus will be paid on Monday December 16 since the 15th falls on a Sunday.

    As for people who became beneficiaries in December, they will only receive this additional boost from January.

    The amounts of the 2024 Christmas bonus

    According to the CAF websitein 2023, the Christmas bonus had been increased by 35% compared to the 2022 Christmas bonus. Everything therefore suggests that this year the amounts will not be reevaluated.

    For RSA beneficiaries

    If you receive RSA, here are the different amounts you can claim in mainland France and in the overseas departments:

    • Single parent with one child: €308.72;
    • Couple with one child: 274.41 euros
    • Single parent with two children: €370.45;
    • Couple with two children: €320.15;
    • Single parent with three children: €452.78;
    • Couple with three children: €381.13;
    • Single parent with four children: €535.10;
    • Couple with four children: €442.11;
    • Per additional child, as a single parent: €82.32;
    • Per additional child, as a couple: €60.98.

    For beneficiaries of ASS or AER

    If you receive ASS or AER, the amount of the premium is €152.45.

    For ASS or AER beneficiaries living alone and having children in their care, this amount is increased on request from Pôle Emploi to reach the following amount:

    • Single parent with one child: €205.81
    • Single parent with two children: €232.49
    • Single parent with three children: €248.49
    • Single parent with four children: €269.84
    • Per additional child: €21.34
