Håkan Loob reveals serious concerns about his unbeaten SHL record

Håkan Loob is one of Swedish hockey’s great icons.
To this day, he is the one who has scored the most goals and the most points in the top flight.
But now he is seriously worried that the record could go up in smoke this season.

It was the 1982-83 season that Håkan Loob scored an incredible 42 goals and 76 points for Färjestad. A record that has proven to be completely unbeatable during the more than 40 years that have been.

Because to this day, it is still the record for most goals and most assists in one season in both the Elitserien and the SHL of all time. Many have tried but no one has succeeded in breaking Loob.

Very often there has been a discussion within Swedish hockey as soon as a player has had a really good start to the season. But no one manages to live up to expectations and take the goal or point production all the way into the spring.

But this year, Håkan Loob is seriously concerned that the record may go up in smoke after 42 unbeaten years. Färjestad’s star player David Tomasek has had an absolute dream start to the season with an incredible seven goals and twelve points in six games so far.

– It is threatened to the highest degree. When you get this start, you grow and gain such confidence, says the TV expert in “Hockey evening”.
– I watch quite a lot of Färjestad’s matches for various reasons, but I see that he (Tomasek) creates chances all the time in all matches so far and will do so, so why not?
