Port workers in 36 ports went on strike on Tuesday after last-minute negotiations on a new collective agreement fell through.
In the United States, a three-day strike by port workers has ended after the labor market parties reached a preliminary agreement on wages.
It was decided to extend the current contract until mid-January, when negotiations will begin regarding other issues, the stevedores’ union ILA and the employer partner USMX said in a joint press release.
All industrial action was said to end immediately and work would continue.
