The municipality of Ljusdal is in emergency mode after nine girls were sexually assaulted by a man who was working at their preschool at the time of the assault. Now the father of one of the girls is speaking out in Ljusdals-posten and Aftonbladet about what it was like to receive the message from the police. After that, the man worked for several years at the same preschool. None of the children reportedly told their parents, who were all unaware until the police informed them. The father wishes that the preschool works with better sex education and to teach children what is not okay at an early age. – I try to reassure myself that my daughter does not seem to remember or understand what she was exposed to. She never talked about it anyway and we didn’t bring it up afterwards either. She seems to be doing well and we don’t want to make her feel bad, says the father to Aftonbladet. Feel sorry for the man’s relatives Since the guilty man is now dead, no preliminary investigation will be opened. The police had just notified him that he was suspected of child pornography offenses when he died. – I feel sorry for the man’s parents and relatives. This isn’t their fault. At the same time, it is the absolute worst thing you can do, to prey on small, innocent children. How can you do this? the father says to the girl. I’m angry, I’m sad, I’m disappointed in what my brother has done, she says. She hopes, however, that the anger and hatred that exists in Ljusdal after what happened will not be directed at the relatives. – I wish he was still around. Not only because he is my brother and I love him, but because I think he should be punished, says the sister.
