In the United States, at least more than 200 people have died as a result of Hurricane Helene, the authorities say.
About half of the victims are from North Carolina. In addition, the hurricane led to deaths in the states of South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and Virginia.
Helene, which raged in the southeastern parts of the country, is measured by the number of victims, the most destructive hurricane on the American continent since 2005, when Hurricane Katrina led to the death of almost 1,400 people.
