The conflict in the Swedish national team is over.
Jon Dahl Tomasson and Hugo Larsson have agreed.
Now Radiosport’s expert Johan Elmander says what everyone needs to hear.
There was a lot of talk during the last national team gathering. When Hugo Larsson was benched Jon Dahl Tomasson with the justification that the national team captain wanted to see more “vertical passes”.
Larsson did not appreciate at all that Tomasson took the criticism publicly and reacted with great disappointment, whereupon he then left the national team with a feared injury. Many have since had their say about the whole situation and harsh words have been directed in both directions.
But now the conflict is resolved and investigated. On Wednesday, Hugo Larsson was again selected for the Swedish national team after a private conversation with Jon Dahl Tomasson.
Elmander’s words
Next up are two away games against Slovakia and Estonia in the Nations League for Sweden. And it will be extremely interesting to see how much playing time the 20-year-old gets in this national team collection.
– I think it is absolutely right that he is included. The opportunities are also greater to play now that so many are injured, says the expert Johan Elmander in Radiosporten.

Then the former national team striker says what all Swedes must hear about the Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder.
– It is clear that he has done well recently in Germany. But the last match when Hugo Larsson was not allowed to play, he (Jon Dahl Tomasson) wanted a different type of player in that particular position. So I think Hugo knows what applies in a Swedish national team, sometimes you play and sometimes you don’t, he says to the radio channel.
The next two matches will be highly decisive for Sweden’s group stage in the Nations League.
– It is the match that you have to get a good result from, but it is not an easy match because this is a good team. It’s a bonus to get six points from these two games, but if you get four points, it’s also very, very good, says Elmander.
