A sudden shortage of players disrupts the early season of Kuusamo, the reigning winner of the Women’s Championship League.
The Volleyball Association said on Wednesday that Kuusamo’s three matches scheduled for the end of the week will be moved later due to the player situation.
Kuusamo was scheduled to face JymyVolley on Thursday and LP-Vampula on Friday in the league. The Finnish Cup match planned for Saturday also had to be postponed.
– We have four players on the injured books and three players sick with a medical certificate. Seven players are gone, and volleyball cannot be played with five players, Kuusamo’s chairman Tarmo Ronkainen explained to STT.
Ronkainen said that due to the player situation, two new player reinforcements are being applied for Kuusamo’s team.
On October 9, Kuusamo is scheduled to face the Dutch team Apollo 8 Borne in the CEV Challenge Cup match.
