Farmer Seeks Wife is back with a new season and already in the first episode many different things happened. For some it has been a little sparking, for others it has been a little slower… which, however, will lighten up after the second episode of the season.
There are a number of things that are new for this year. Among other things, the farmers will get to invite a letter writer on an overnight date, which some of them will have a hard time with. The overnight date is for the farmers to spend a little more time with someone.

Something else that many viewers have reacted to is that one of the farmers is missing in the first episode of the season.
When News24 reached TV4, they told us that it all has a natural explanation.
“This year we wanted to offer the viewers an extra lot of peasants and therefore there are five peasants, a difference from previous seasons where we had four peasants. Without revealing too much right now, Kristian’s love journey will look a little different and it has been planned all along that he will come in after Sundbyholm”, wrote TV4 Press in an email.

But something that is also relatively new is that the production put in so-called “love guards” which should, in short, prevent the farmers from… finding chemistry between each other and acting on that feeling.
TV4 deploys love guardians in Bonde seeks a wife
It is on his blog that Linda Lindorff tells about the love guardians and the reason behind their existence. It all had to do with the 2016 incident. When Erik Bäckman and Sigrid Bergåkra spent a night together at the castle after dining and drinking wine with the rest of the peasants.
– Of course, we could have cut this whole piece out and tried to keep it a secret, but then you can also wonder why. Should we who make a program about trying to find love and at the same time start censoring ourselves when it doesn’t turn out exactly as we thought, ppdemands Linda then on her blog.
– I understand that there will be many opinions about this and everyone has the right to think what they want. But what our farmers felt was not just temporary lust. They felt chemistry, they felt attraction and they felt love, she concluded.

The next day, the camera crew entered the room with Linda Lindorff in the lead. Sigrid and Erik were then told that they should now go ahead and date their letter writers.

“Then we have the year 2016 when things also happened, and in that case right here at the castle. What actually happened only the two involved know, but it was a bit of chaos if you say so and the editors were once again afraid of losing two of four farmers. This time it would have been more difficult considering that we had already come a long way and the letter writers were there,” writes Linda and continues:

“After this year, we have put in something we call love guardians and yes, we have that this year as well. Of course, there is nothing more important and greater than love and whatever it looks like is good, you just have to keep up with the turns and in our case, to try to tell about what is happening, whatever it may be…”, she concludes.
