Police have been alerted to a residential area in Sollentuna, according to information to TV4 Nyheterna.
According to the information, it concerns a suspected hostage situation and shots are said to have been fired.
– Policemen just ran out of the cars towards a villa, says a resident in the area to TV4 Nyheterna.
Barricades have been set up in the area and a school is said to have also been housed.
– There is no danger to the public according to our assessment at the moment, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson at the police.
Pictures from the scene show how heavily armed police are guarding the roadblocks.
– We have an ongoing effort right now. The circumstances are such right now that we cannot go into any details, says Daniel Wikdahl.
Several policemen are said to have rushed out of the cars and moved towards a villa. The incident occurred shortly after noon.
– Here were three ambulances and an ambulance. One street down there were lots of police cars, both civilian and ordinary, says a resident of the area.
– They have blocked off the area as well, so that cars have to turn around.
