That old mobile phones increase in value over time is nothing new. In 2023, old classic button phones were sold for high amounts on the tradera buying and selling site.
The Nokia N92 was launched in 2005 and was the world’s first mobile with an integrated DVB-H tuner, which is a television format integrated into the screen. In addition, the phone had a 2.8 inch screen, which at the time was the largest on the market.
In 2023, the most expensive model of the Nokia N92 was offered for a whopping SEK 10,200.

However, it was not only the Nokia N92 that went for several thousand kroner last year. Another classic, the Ericson R310S, was also offered home for a high amount – SEK 6,040.
– I think that in the future these older button phones will mainly be bought for nostalgia reasons and it will become a new collector’s item. Just like the craze for the 1980s Walkman, vintage gameboys and cassette players, there is a retro charm in many of the older push-button phones that many people like and are willing to pay for, Tradera’s communications manager has Sofia Hagelin said in an earlier interview with News24.

As old mobile phones increase in value, it may be worth considering selling the rarities if you have some lying around at home.
However, it is not the old push-button telephones that sell the most. In line with the rapid development of technology, the value of mobile phones has also increased significantly in recent years. Nowadays, it is not at all unusual for a new mobile phone from brands such as Apple and Samsung to cost SEK 15-20,000 in new condition.
With the high value of new mobile phones, it is perhaps not entirely unthinkable that they also have a juicy price on the second-hand market.

Several models worth over SEK 20,000
In 2023, mobiles from Apple were sold for breathtaking amounts on the buying and selling site Tradera.
An example of this is Apple’s Iphone 14 Pro Max, in unopened packaging, which was sold for an incredible SEK 21,699. But despite that, it wasn’t the mobile that was sold for the most money. Instead, it was a slightly older model that was actually not in mint condition.
The most expensive mobile phone offered at Tradera 2023 was Apple’s iPhone 13 mini, with 128 gigabytes of storage memory.

The phone was launched on 24 September 2021 on the Swedish market and was withdrawn from the range in the latter part of 2023.
It was launched in red, starburst, midnight, blue, pink and green colors.
Bidding ended at a breathtaking SEK 23,004, making it the most expensive sale on the site in the previous year.
