IF Gnistan, who rose in the Veikkausliiga and already secured their place in the league, used the next season’s option in the contract of head coach Jussi Leppälahti.
Jussi Leppälahti has shown this season that the major league team he coaches can challenge any opponent in every game.
Out of his last ten matches, Gnistan from Oulu has won seven, drawn twice and lost only once.
Director of sports at the Helsinki club Jarkko Jokiranta praises Leppälahti’s success in many areas.
– It is a huge achievement for the Nousija team to reach the Euro final tournament. We have talked a lot with Juss and found a common vision of what we need to develop so that we can continue to grow and succeed in the future as well, states the sports boss on his club’s website.
The head coach himself says that he has full focus on the culmination of the rest of the season. Next Saturday, Gnistan will face FC Lahti at home, and on October 19, FC Inter will be away in the final round.
– It’s really great to continue here. It has been an educational year with wonderful players and a great staff. Let’s try to do everything even better as a club next season, says Leppälahti.
