On August 9, 2024 was sentenced Adam Britton53, to prison for ten years and five months. Up until then he had been a well-known zoologist, whose expertise was crocodiles.
Britton has previously worked for, among others, the BBC and National Geographic. Sir David Attenborough has also visited Britton’s home in connection with him filming part of a documentary series.

In a letter, Britton describes how he regrets his crimes, something like Daily Mail was the first to publish.
“I deeply regret the pain and trauma I have caused innocent families and also my family and friends. I have let you all down, I am truly sorry. I have battled an unusual paraphilia most of my life. The shame and fear did that I didn’t dare seek help”.
When Adam Britton was arrested, he was married to Erin Brittonwho fled the country and changed his name.

The couple were married for 20 years and Erin was unaware of her husband’s crimes.
– I cannot understand how someone can be so depraved and evil. He has just ruined my whole life, she says in an interview with 60 Minutes.
Adam Britton raped, tortured and murdered 42 dogs over an 18 month period. Britton’s crime came to light after he discussed how many dogs and puppies he had killed on the Telegram chat. There he also posted video clips of the murders.
– He does not know what is right or wrong. I feel like I’ve lost so much of my life and I feel like I’ve been completely ripped off. I am angry and upset and there is nothing I could have done. It is very disturbing.

The dogs Adam Britton killed weren’t just his own. He used to persuade other dog owners to take care of their animals when the owner was going away. Britton then took pictures of the dogs when they were unharmed to show that they had gone to a “good home”.
Erin Britton tells 60 minutes that she is still alive and must continue to live. Now she will fight for wildlife and animals in general.
Erin still asks herself why she didn’t know about her ex-husband’s crimes, and how she could have missed it.
– My brain was in denial, ‘no’. Hearing that information is the most horrible thing you could ever hear about your partner, says Erin Britton in the television program.
