The Minister of Business and Made in Italy said it, Adolfo Urso, on an official visit to Kenya. After this morning’s meetings with the President of the National Assembly and the Kenyan Minister of Defence, Urso had a bilateral discussion, in Nairobi, with the Minister of Information, Communication and Digital Economy, Margaret Ndung’u, on the possible forms of cooperation on artificial intelligence and in the digital field within the Mattei Plan, in particular through the “AI Hub for Sustainable Development” project of the Italian presidency of the G7 Industry, Technology and Digital Ministerial, in collaboration with the UNDP.

Urso then met the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industries of Kenya, Salim Mvurya. “The relations between our two countries are strategic for Italy’s presence on the African continent – he stated Ursus during the meeting -, as evidenced by the presence in the country of several large Italian groups and of a vast Italian business community, well integrated into the Kenyan economic-social fabric. Within the Mattei Planwe can today evaluate collaborations with Kenya on new sectors, additional to that of space for which this year marks the first 60 years of cooperation between the two countries, including the production of biofuels or the supply of necessary critical raw materials to the dual transition, ecology and digital”. Urso, who will meet a representative of the Italian business community in the evening, will tomorrow visit the “Luigi Broglio” Space Center in Malindi.
