In the distance, we can hear the crowd shouting and applauding. For more than three minutes, Emmanuel Macron advances alone. With a solemn look, he walks along the fountains and immense avenues of the palace to reach the stage. And the image is impressive: he sits behind a blue-white-red desk. In the background, the immense pyramid of the Louvre. The music stops. Then he greets his hundreds of supporters, who have been waiting for him since the announcement of the results three hours ago
That evening, Emmanuel Macron had just won the presidential election against Marine Le Pen, with 66% of the votes. The five-year term therefore begins with this scene which will strongly permeate the Macron presidency.
