Manchester United really pulled the bar down at Old Trafford – ‘Shocking performance’ | Sports in a nutshell

Manchester United really pulled the bar down at Old Trafford

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag is once again the center of media attention due to his team’s poor performances.

Tottenham humiliated on Sunday even without their star player Heung-min Sonia In the English Premier League, Manchester United with a score of 3–0 at Old Trafford.

Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke scored the goals of the match against the undermanned United. Bruno Fernandes received a straight red card in the 42nd minute when the home team was losing 0–1.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville considered the home team’s performance “shocking”.

– It was one of the saddest shows I’ve seen Erik ten Hag era – and that’s saying a lot. The pressures (for firings) will come up in the coming week, and the feedback will be brutal. This was a really bad day for ten Hag, really bad, analyzed Neville on Sky Sports.

Ex-United striker Ashley Young was on the same lines.

– Manchester United left nothing on the field. There was no attitude, no work ethic and no leader. There was only a scattered and individual group of players on the field. They were bad from the start. Tottenham had so many chances they looked like the home team. United fans are rightfully disappointed, Young said.

Former Premier League striker Chris Sutton told the BBC that United’s “game performance was such that a manager can easily get fired after that”.

For Manchester United, the 0–3 home defeat in the Premier League was already the second in a row at its legendary home arena. At the beginning of September, Liverpool covered ten Hag’s crew by a three-goal margin, and now it was Tottenham’s turn to repeat the humiliating trick.

When ManU last time lost in the series twice in a row at home after still being goalless, the head coach got his starting passes. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer dropped to left back in November 2021 after Liverpool (5–0) and Manchester City (2–0) had successfully visited Old Trafford.

United’s start to the season in the Premier League is as bad as the worst seasons in 2013 and 2020, taking the first six matches. Only once in the club’s history have United scored fewer goals in the beginning of the season than now – five.
