According to the exit poll shared by the public broadcaster ORF in the general elections held in Austria, it was stated that while 40 percent of the votes were counted, the participation rate was 78.1 percent.

EXTREME RIGHT-WIST PARTY IS AHEAD

The far-right FPÖ, which has been ranked first in opinion polls since the election date was announced, is leading with 29.1 percent of the votes.

The center-right Austrian People’s Party (ÖVP), the major partner of the government, ranks second with 26.3 percent, and the Social Democratic Party (SPÖ) ranks third with 20.6 percent.

The Green Party, the junior partner of the government, received 8.8 percent of the votes, and the liberal New Austria Party (NEOS) received 9 percent of the votes.
