Anyone who starts fishing or cooking in Throne and Liberty will inevitably wonder where they can get bait and salt without much effort. MeinMMO tells you.
What do I need to know about fishing in Throne and Liberty? In the new MMORPG, anyone can grab a fishing rod and hunt for fish without any prior knowledge. If you’re patient, you’ll even get your first fishing rod as a gift from adventurer Percy in Vienta as part of a Chapter 3 quest.
Alternatively, you can also buy a fishing rod from a contract coin dealer, for example, for 300 contract coins. There you can also buy a fishing bait chest with 50 baits every day for 20 contract coins.
What do I do with fishing rod and bait? You have to equip these, like your peacemakers and clothes, so that they appear in the character window (shortcut: P) to the left above your two weapons. Then go to a sufficiently deep body of water, click on the fishing symbol in the skill bar (shortcut: CTRL+F) and cast the rod by clicking on F.
As soon as a potential catch grabs your bait, you can press Q to start the fishing mini-game. Your task now is to counter the fish’s movements with A or D (always control against the direction of the pull) in order to keep it in the middle until its stamina drops to zero. If you succeed, the catch will fly into your hands.
Are there alternative sources of bait? You can find bait while playing, for example by mining wood in the game world and finding worms. You can also buy the aforementioned fishing lure chests in the in-game shop for 15 jewelry coins each.

Salt, where can you get salt?
What do I need to know about cooking in Throne and Liberty? You don’t have to go to a teacher to learn the life skill of cooking. Simply stop by a cooking oven with the right ingredients (you can find them in cities or your guild base) and off you go.
While you can get many of the starting ingredients such as eggs, tomatoes, honey, milk or vegetable oil from any general store, they unfortunately lack salt. Tip: You can click on each ingredient and then use the purchase method item to find out where you can farm the respective food.
What you don’t find out about salt there: You can easily farm salt through Amitoi expeditions. The first one, for low-level Amitoi, has the chance to put salt in your pockets. This way you can save yourself some farming time.
What else do I need to know about Throne and Liberty? Throne and Liberty will be released on October 1, 2024 for PC, Xbox Series X|S and PS5. There will be crossplay between platforms.
