Despite the fact that Anna Kinberg Batra is forced out of her position as governor in Stockholm, she will continue to receive a monthly salary of over 100,000 kroner – for five more years.

Anna Kinberg Batra will retain her employment at the government office until February 2029, when her appointment expires. The employment also includes her current monthly salary of SEK 122,400, an income of almost SEK 6.5 million if she stays on.

She will now be placed at the Government Office, where several other former directors-general are placed.

At the Government Office, the former managers are assigned new duties, usually some type of investigative assignment. How long they remain can vary from a couple of months to several years.

On Friday, the government announced that it lacks confidence in Anna Kinberg Batra as governor of Stockholm. On Thursday, Kinberg Batra received harsh criticism from the Justice Ombudsman regarding three controversial recruitments she made as the new governor.
