Red wine stains are stubborn stains

When you accidentally spill something on yourself, or get splashed on your shirt from the lunch box, it can feel really boring. Some even find red wine and tomato sauce to be impossible to remove completely, especially if it concerns white garments.

The housewife trick can remove a red wine stain

But red wine is super easy to remove, if you use the old housewife trick of vinegar and salt. The two together can dissolve the most ingrained old stain, which Allas also wrote about.

Sprinkling some potato flour on a fresh red wine stain can also be effective, if allowed to work overnight.

If you want to get a tomato stain on your clothes, you should first try to scrape off as much of the stain as possible with a blunt knife. Then rinsing from the back of the garment through the stain can remove most of it.

There are actually several simple tricks on how to remove a grease stain from your clothes.

  • Vinegar: A common housewife trick to remove grease stains is to put a little vinegar on the stain. Because vinegar is acidic, it can dissolve grease stains.
  • Lemon juice: Even lemon juice can dissolve fat. It is just like vinegar, acidic, and therefore can dissolve fat.
  • Vinegar: Vinegar acts as a weak acid and can break down grease and dissolve dirt.
  • Detergent: Detergent has a fat-soluble ability. If you put a small dab on your grease stain, rub in and then rinse, it should dissolve the stain.
