Sweden has so far produced 18 team captains for NHL clubs.
Now we have a 19th.
Rasmus Dahlin is named team captain for the Buffalo Sabres’ upcoming season.
Rasmus Dahlin24, has since been drafted as a first-year player in 2018, becoming a superstar in the NHL. Now he is also rewarded with the role of team captain of his team, the Buffalo Sabres.
“He does everything right”
During the last three seasons, Rasmus Dahlin has had to “make do” with having an A on his chest, which all vice-captains have. But for the season, which starts in a week, he will exchange it for a C.
“He does everything right, first and foremost. His performances on the ice have been fantastic, and I think he’s a guy who can lead in all areas. Everything from how he prepares for games, to how he plays and really wants to win hockey games,” says Buffalo’s coach Lindy Ruff to the club’s website.

The Swede has played for the Sabers since his entry into the world’s best hockey league in the 2018/19 season, and has been a standout for several seasons. This despite the fact that the team has not impressed. In the last season, the offensive back accounted for 20 goals and 39 assists in 59 games.
Wow, what an achievement! Big congratulations and good luck next season, Rasmus. It is an honor to captain your team in the NHL. Few are blessed. So take the opportunity to enjoy.
