Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 released patch 3.0 on September 26, 2024. With the update, the co-op shooter got some new features that fans urgently requested. One of these features is intended to give you more privacy.
What is this feature? With Patch 3.0, Space Marine 2 released private lobbies for Operational Mode (PvE). This means that from now on you can also play the stakes solo with bots or with a friend without getting a random player.
Private PvE lobbies have been a much-requested feature from the community in recent weeks, as until recently you could only play the missions with other players. When you started an operation, you were automatically thrown into matchmaking and linked to other players.
For example, one user wrote on Reddit: “I hate that the game forces me into lobbies with other people.” Many players also simply asked whether it was somehow possible to start private lobbies and were desperately looking for the option that would be available until patch 3.0 but was completely missing.
If you don’t want to avoid other people, we’ll show you in the video how to play the Space Marine 2 campaign in co-op and activate crossplay:
Patch fulfilled other fan wishes
What else did patch 3.0 bring? With the September 26th update, Space Marine 2 also received a sparring arena where you can play closed PvP matches against your friends.
The co-op shooter also received the much-requested support for ultrawide monitors and an adjustment to the highest difficulty level in the campaign. The enemies there are now a little less aggressive, which should make the experience better for solo players.
Your AI companions have also been improved so that they can now be of greater help to you. Previously, the bots were intentionally bad so that they wouldn’t steal the show from the players.

In addition to some new features, the update also contains some bug fixes. For example, a bug was fixed that allowed some weapons to regenerate more health than originally planned. This also affected one of the most popular weapons in the game, the melta rifle: There is a weapon that is particularly popular in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, but its great strength was not planned at all
