It has turned out over time that the old push-button telephones have become quite valuable. Nowadays, classics such as Nokia and Ericsson are sold for thousands of kroner on the second-hand market.

News24 recently wrote about the Nokia N92, the old flip phone that was the first on the market with an integrated tuner. It was sold in 2023 for an incredible 10,000 kroner on the auction site Tradera, the highest of all button phones put up for auction.

Nyheter24 has also written about the phone, which came second on the list of the most expensive auctioned pushbutton phones at Tradera in 2023.

The yellow Ericsson R310S was bid home for the tidy sum of SEK 6,040.

According to Sofia Hagelincommunications manager at Tradera, there is a great demand for older phones.

However, the demand is greater than the supply at the moment, so if you have an old mobile phone that is collecting dust and at the same time want to make some money, it might be worth trying to put it up for sale.

– I think that in the future these older button phones will mainly be bought for nostalgia reasons and it will become a new collector’s item, Hagelin has told Nyheter24.

As the technology has developed and refined, it has meant different demands on both mobile and users.

As the number of frauds increases in society, mobile phones have become an important tool in the approach of fraudsters.

Recently, Android users were warned as hackers can steal the user’s bank card. NFC, Near Field Communication, is the technology that enables you to pay contactless. The warning to Android users was that malicious code could be exploited in the technology to secretly read the bank card.

To protect yourself, you should avoid certain apps and dangerous programs.

But to even access apps that aren’t built into the phone in the first place, you need to download them.

Now, however, a major change has begun to apply to all mobile phones that have the Galaxy Store.

As of September 25th, an active Samsung account is required to use the Galaxy Store on your Samsung phone and therefore download apps.

The site Android Authority writes that already downloaded apps should be receptive to future updates but that for future downloads you will need an active account.

Furthermore, they state that Samsung recently announced that the change was underway.

“While it has traditionally been without a Samsung account, starting September 25 users will be prompted to sign in when they launch the app if they haven’t already done so,” they write.
