The activist explains that the resumption of these false rumors by the Republican candidate and his running mate have put the lives of Haitian migrants in danger: There have been multiple bomb threats in Springfield that have forced the city to close schools, and hospitals and other government departments are on alert. People are still being threatened. I, for one, am getting threatening emails and phone calls, telling me to go back to Haiti. And that continues to be the case all over the United States. »

Guerline Josef insists that the Haitian Bridge Alliance is not in a partisan mindset ahead of the presidential election. She points out that her organization is already suing President Joe Biden for the way the United States behaved towards Haitian migrants in the city of Del Rio, Texas, in 2021.
