The woman and a man of the same age were traveling in a car that collided with a truck. Both were taken to hospital by ambulance.

The accident happened at 2 pm on Wednesday. Later in the day, the hospital announced that the woman, who was in her 80s, had died of her injuries.
The traffic accident occurred in Gävle.
“I don’t know the extent of the man’s injuries,” says the police spokesperson Pelle Vamstad.
The police are investigating the accident as negligence in traffic. There is no suspect.
