How fake are the celebrities really?

How fake are the celebrities really

Reality shows are tough: things have long since stopped being calm and orderly. The Summer House of the Stars has not exactly been able to shine with etiquette in recent years either. Outbursts of violence and involuntary show expulsions are the order of the day. For trash TV fans, it is a dream come true. But now you really have to ask yourself, Which celebrities can you still take seriously?

Is everything a fix? There is only conflict in the summer house

The Summer House of the Stars 2024 is the best example of how the boundaries between fake and reality are blurring. For the last three episodes, there hasn’t been a minute in which people aren’t shouting at each other, bickering, or speaking passively-aggressively. But not every argument actually has the potential to explode like that, and yet it still happens. Every little argument is blown out of proportion and just seems unrealistic.

An example from episode 3: Tessa Bergmeier and Theresia Fischer chat about the previous challenge, in which they had to ride a fairly small bike. Theresia clearly had problems with her artificially extended legs. Tessa also brings in her long legs. The two women then compare their stilts and Theresia explains that her legs are “117 centimeters” long. Tessa counters that hers are almost as long at 114 centimeters. Theresia’s partner Stefan finds the difference greater and simply replies with a curt “shorter”. Tessa’s reaction to this seems so far removed from reality and so exaggerated that the viewer has to ask themselves: does Tessa really need this airtime to start an unnecessary argument or did the statement really hurt her that much? She throws a angry “idiot” to the head and steams away.

The discussion is not over yet. Stefan does not want to take the insult lying down. He confronts Tessa. But instead of speaking to the model, the conversation is interrupted by Umut, who suddenly stomps out of the house, has not noticed a second of the argument, does not know the context and takes Tessa’s side. Suddenly a war of words breaks out between Stefan and Umut, which of course is also joined by Umut’s girlfriend Emma, because she cannot miss a single broadcast. Stefan probably sees it the same way, because he does not seem to understand why the two of them are interfering in the conversation even though it is not about them. “Did you get your airtime now?”he asks Umut bluntly.

And since we’re on the subject of Umut and Emma: The two of them really don’t give a damn. Emma bursts into tears at every little incident – crocodile tears? – and doesn’t miss an opportunity to blame her partner. A short time later, you even start to like Umut surprisingly. But this sympathy doesn’t last long. Somehow Umut always manages to push himself into the spotlight. Be it with a genuine emotional outburst, in which he theatrically retreats alone into the garden and is comforted by his comrade Can, which really makes you wonder whether these tears are genuine. Or when he starts to attack Emma.

Sam Dylan and Rafi Rachek provide a real goosebump moment

These exaggerated reactions, which one just has to question, are contrasted by another event in the episode. Sam Dylan and Rafi Rachek show a particularly honest moment in their relationship, which one would not expect from the over-excited reality stars. In episode three, Rafi had a little too much to drink and then completely freaked out. He insulted his partner and even packed his bags. Sam, who usually always has a cheeky saying on his lips about everything, remains surprisingly calm in the situation and tries to calm his angry friend down again and again. It seems as if Sam knows such situations from his relationship and as if this is really a real argument, not an artificial one.
