Israel is reportedly investigating claims that Hamas Political Bureau Chairman Yahya Sinwar may have been killed in attacks in Gaza.
NOT VERIFIED YET
Israeli state television channel KAN reported that an investigation was underway into whether Hamas Political Bureau Chairman Sinwar had lost his life in Israel’s latest attacks, but there was no confirmed intelligence to support this claim.
THEY WERE DIVIDED IN TWO
The report also included comments from Israeli security forces that “they are divided over whether Sinwar was out of contact or dead.”
DEATH OF HANİYE
Haniyeh was in Tehran to attend the swearing-in ceremony of new Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
In a statement made in the early hours of July 31, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that an attack was carried out on Haniyeh’s residence in Tehran.
While Iran and Hamas hold Israel responsible for the assassination, Israeli officials have refrained from making a statement about the incident.
Haniyeh was elected as the head of the Hamas Political Bureau by the Hamas Shura Council on May 6, 2017, replacing Khaled Meshaal.
