The Brantford Police Services Board has a new chair.

Allan Lovett takes over from past chair Greg Martin, a Ward 3 city councilor.
Born and raised in Brantford, Lovett is a graduate of North Park Collegiate. He earned an honors degree in business administration at Wilfrid Laurier University before earning his law degree at the University of Ottawa in 2007.
Lovett is a lawyer at Waterous Holden Amey Hitchon. His community involvement includes the Chamber of Commerce Brantford-Brant, Rotary Club of Brantford and Brantford CYO Basketball.
Mandy Samwell, a Ward 5 city councilor, continues as the vice chair.
Other members of the board include Mayor Kevin Davis, Krupesh Shah and Dan Houssar.
The police services board has five members including two who are appointed by city council. Council also appoints one person from the community to the board.
The remaining two members are provincial appointments.
The police board sets priorities and objectives for the police service in conjunction with the chief of police.
