SMHI warns of heavy snowfall issues yellow warning

SMHI has issued yellow warnings for Monday and Tuesday in parts of the country.

Strong winds and snow – advise against going out

In Norrbottensfjällen, the warning applies from 6 a.m. on Monday. It is expected to be strong wind with snow or sleet. If you are above, SMHI advises against going out on the mountain and there is a risk of frostbite.

– East of the mountains, it is probably the first heavy snowfall of the season. There may be 5-10 cm but in the western part, up Abisko, possibly 15 cm they say Peter Kondrup to TV4.

Can create problems in problems in traffic

The warning in northern Norrbotten applies from 14:00 on Monday and the snow storm may cause problems in traffic and slippage may occur.

– In the southern part of the warning area, south of Kiruna, it is uncertain how much will come as there may be elements of rain. Even in the northeast up Karesuando, it is difficult to say how much it will come, says meteorologist Peter Kondrup TV4.
