Only two medalists from the Paris Olympics reached X Games ahead of Heili Sirviö.
A skateboarder Heili Sirviö finished third in the prestigious invitational competition X Games held in Chiba, Japan. Only the gold medalist of the Paris Olympics was better than Sirviöt in the women’s park competition Arisa Trew and bronze medalist Sky Brown.
Sirviö left behind Sakura Yosozumi. The Japanese won Olympic gold at the Park in Tokyo three years ago. He scored 76.00. Sirviö’s bronze score was 80.00. His best scores came on the first try. On the last two attempts, Sirviö still tried to improve his result, but fell.
Trew won the race with a score of 91.66. Sky Brown was second with 86.66 points.
Sirviö participated in the famous X Games competition for the first time. There were six competitors in the finals and altogether 11 top skaters participated in the Women’s Park in Chiba.
During the finals, Sirviö was ardently praised during the live broadcast of the X Games.
– It’s not fair to be this good at the age of 13, the commentator described Sirviö after his first draw.
Sirviö was the youngest participant in the competition.
After securing the third place, the young Finnish comet also shed tears of happiness.
