For many car owners, the technical inspection is seen as a chore. You have to make an appointment in time to avoid breaking the law, find an available slot outside working hours, and above all find a center that charges reasonable prices. In general, this mandatory appointment every two years to check the condition of the vehicle costs around 80 euros, not including any repairs or the second inspection. So how can you pay less?
On the Internet, there are several sites that offer attractive prices, including CTeasy.com. This claims to be the “N°1 for cheap technical inspections in France”. The concept is simple: the CTeasy site offers motorists a wide choice of offers by asking approved centers to make available “their unsold slots based on discounted prices of up to -50%”, can be read on their website.
Concretely, how does it work? The person who needs to make an appointment for a technical inspection selects their municipality in the search bar, the date of their choice, their vehicle type and the type of fuel. After a few seconds, the site presents them with the best available offers closest to their home, the cheapest or the best rated (depending on the selected filter). So there is plenty to choose from! And this is precisely one of the criteria that pleased our colleague, who tested this site.
“I needed an appointment quickly and with CTeasy, the advantage is that you can book a slot and see availability in real time. I chose based on price and reviews. I didn’t take the cheapest for fear of not being satisfied with the service, but I saw unbeatable offers”Jennifer tells us. After making her choice and paying online in advance, she went to the technical inspection center she had selected near her home, and there again, it was a nice surprise.
“I found the booking process very easy and everything went very smoothly when I went to the inspection centre. They are used to using this site and I didn’t need to specify anything. I got my car back 30 minutes later”, she adds. Price-wise, the promise was well fulfilled: Jennifer only paid 63 euros instead of the usual 85 euros. A significant saving.
Be careful of one detail though. If you want to cancel your appointment, you have 14 days before the date to change your mind and get a refund. But in the event that you have a last-minute impediment, the “technical inspection center is not obliged to accept the cancellation of your appointment in accordance with our T&Cs”, indicates the site in its general conditions of sale. Which means that you may not get a refund. In any case, you have the possibility to fill out a form to request one.
