SEGA’s popular role-playing series Yakuza is getting a new spin-off for PS5 and Steam. This was announced on September 20, 2024 – but some people knew about it long before then.
What kind of game is this? Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will be the next entry in the Yakuza series and is scheduled to be released on February 28, 2025 for console and PC. The action adventure follows the gangster Goro Majima, who is stranded on an island and apparently rises to become a pirate captain.
The game was announced on September 20, 2024 in a livestream at the RGG Summit 2024, but at least one person knew about it beforehand – it’s just that no one believed him.

“Madlantis” sounded too crazy to be true
What kind of leak was that? An anonymous user had already revealed details about the game on the 4chan forum on May 14, 2024. He already knew that Majima would be the protagonist of the next part and would be involved in a pirate feud after suffering memory loss.
The predictions of the combat system also match the announcement: You should be able to switch between two fighting styles, one in the usual Yakuza style and a new pirate style with two cutlasses.
The user also announced that the game will be revealed later this year.
However, the leak received little attention at the time: the code name “Madlantis” and the idea of a mafia pirate adventure in Hawaii simply sounded too absurd. But now that the predictions have turned out to be true, they are attracting even more attention.
Screenshots of the post are currently circulating on Reddit and X, where they are being discussed extensively. However, we are not showing the post here because it also contains details that have not yet been officially announced.
