  • Man beaten in cemetery

    A man in his 20s was beaten on Saturday evening when he confronted some young people at Klara church.

    The young people must have behaved inappropriately in the cemetery, according to the police. After the assault, they ran from the scene.

    A police patrol drove the man to hospital. He was not seriously injured, but the police are still investigating the incident as aggravated assault.

    Almost three months after this summer’s parliamentary elections, France has finally managed to shake up a new government under former Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier.

    The ministers were presented by the Elysée Palace on Saturday evening.

    As expected, the new government leans to the right compared to the previous centrist government.

    Kombispel says in a comment to DN that they take the criticism very seriously and that it will be part of the ongoing investigation.

  • Suspected dangerous object in Uppsala

    Police are on the scene in Gottsunda in Uppsala due to a suspected dangerous object being found at an apartment building.

    No one is said to have been injured and residents of the multi-family building are asked to stay indoors.

    – It is a caller who raised the alarm after seeing this object, says Tobias Ahlén-Svalbro, press spokesperson for the police in the central region.

    The National Bomb Squad is on its way to the scene.

    The police urge the public to respect the roadblocks and to follow the police’s instructions at the scene.

  • Man cut – one arrested

    A man in his 40s with a stab wound has been taken to hospital by ambulance from a residence in Malmö municipality.

    The police arrested a 35-year-old suspect at the scene where the man was found injured.

    – There is some form of acquaintance between them from before, says Evelina Olsson, police spokesperson.

    The police were alerted at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and are classifying the incident as suspected serious assault. Earlier, information was spread that the man would be life-threateningly injured.

    – It is serious assault, so nothing life-threatening, says Evelina Olsson.

  • Man killed in traffic accident in Falkenberg

    A motorcycle and a wheel loader were involved in an accident on county road 758 near Ljungby today. A man in his 80s died as a result of the accident.

    The man’s relatives have been notified.

    The vehicles have been impounded and the police will investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident further, they write on their website.

  • Municipality says no to meatballs every day

    Meatballs and macaroni in the school cafeteria five days a week?

    No, says Luleå municipality. They have rejected the e-proposal that gathered 1,167 votes, reports SVT News Norrbotten.

    The person who took the initiative for the proposal said that it could both be a way to reduce the special diet and get more children to eat the school meals.

    But the Board of Education does not agree.

  • Ukraine’s giant attack – measured as an earthquake

    A Ukrainian drone attack on a Russian weapons depot in Toropets in the Tver region earlier this week triggered an explosion with a magnitude of 2.7 – the equivalent of a minor earthquake.

    The ministry also writes that the attack probably caused such large losses of materiel that Russian ground offensives may be halted, especially in the Kursk region, which has been partially invaded by Ukraine.

    On the night of Saturday, Ukraine attacked another weapons depot, just a few kilometers from the depot that was attacked on Wednesday. A fire broke out at the depot and there were also reports of several explosions that led to traffic on a major highway in the area being stopped, AP reports.

  • Two men arrested for murder in Kalix

    On Tuesday evening, a man in his 20s was found dead outside in Kalix.

    Two men have now been arrested for the murder in Luleå district court, write NSD.

    One of the men has a protected identity and the other man is in his 40s. Both deny wrongdoing through their lawyers, the newspaper writes.

    Seven people were arrested on suspicion of murder. It involved six men and one woman.

    Three of the men were released on Thursday and on Friday another one of the men and the woman were released. However, the suspicions remain, according to prosecutor Anna Väppling.

  • Three cars in a collision on the E6

    Three cars have collided on the E6 south of Vellinge, in the direction of Malmö, the police write on their website.

    Four people are said to be involved in the accident and the extent of the damage is currently unclear.

    – Everyone must be out of the cars, they had got out themselves. The ambulance is there and checks everyone involved, says Christian Frost, commanding officer at the rescue service.

    The road is currently completely closed in the direction of Malmö, and is expected to reopen at 4:15 p.m. at the earliest, according to the Swedish Transport Administration.

    A passenger car and a motorcycle have been involved in an accident on national highway 46 outside Falköping.

  • Forsmark stops parts of work after the accident

    Nordea writes in an email to Aftonbladet that it is a matter of overload attacks coinciding with the bank’s maintenance work, and that the attacks could not then be prevented.

    “This has resulted in certain digital services occasionally working more slowly or being unavailable to our customers. We are continuously working to strengthen our defense against overload attacks,” writes the bank.
