New trailer for Arcane shows Vi at the lowest point in her life

The new trailer for Arcane on Netflix hits like a bomb – and also reveals when all episodes of the second season will be released. It’s going to be a celebration.

Arcane is considered the showcase example of a video game adaptation that is not only successful, but outstanding, and that even excites people who have no idea what League of Legends is. Now Netflix has released the next trailer with the release date – and the trailer alone is once again a firework of action and emotions. But see for yourself what problems Vi has to deal with, both figuratively and literally.

What can be seen in the trailer? The trailer mainly follows Vi, who seems to be falling further and further after the events of season 1. She returns to what she does so well: violence. As a fighter in shady clubs, she first fights her way to the top, only to then sink further and further.

Her appearance darkens, along with her mental health. She keeps seeing Caitlyn and clearly regrets having pushed her away. At the same time, Vi’s appearance is getting closer and closer to Jinx.

The trailer ends with the release dates.

When will Arcane 2 be released? Along with the trailer, Arcane also released the release date for all episodes. As with the first season, the second season will be split into 3 acts, each of which will be released with a one-week break. The dates are:

  • Act 1: 09 November
  • Act 2: November 16
  • Act 3: November 23
  • Please note that the dates for the European release may vary slightly.

This is how the community reacts: Whether in the comments on YouTube or in the Arcane subreddit, the opinion is unanimous: the trailer is terrific. This can also be judged by the ratio of likes to dislikes. At the time of writing (September 21, 2024, 11:00 a.m.), the trailer has over 100,000 thumbs up – and just over 350 thumbs down. That’s 99.6% positive. The comments are also almost all positive or expectant:

  • “How the hell did Fortiche manage to raise the bar for their animations even higher?” – Infinity-has
  • “I think you could write an entire essay about Vi repeatedly hallucinating Caitlyn, each time neat and pristine in her Enforcer uniform. Season 2 is 100% going to be another banger, LET’S GO!” – HelluvaFicus
  • “Fortiche has outdone themselves – again! This is without a doubt the pinnacle of animation art, the amount of effects and detail per scene is unreal.” – n4thannstewart
  • “Jeez, that was a jam-packed 2 minutes. It’ll be fun to watch the details in slow motion, but I hope the show gives it a little more breathing room, because that was A LOT.” – rygorous
  • Arcane 2 seems to be a real highlight on Netflix that will be of interest not only to League of Legends fans. The first season already managed to enthuse millions who had never laid their hands on the computer game before.
Before that, there was trouble surrounding Arcane 2 – as a whole 5 episodes had already been leaked.
