Thousands of people were injured and dozens of people lost their lives as a result of cyberattacks carried out by Israel on September 17 and 18 against civilians. The United Nations (UN) made a statement regarding the attacks in Lebanon where pagers were detonated simultaneously, stating that acts of violence aimed at spreading fear among civilians were war crimes.
After the attack, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah vowed revenge, saying, “This is a declaration of war.” Thereupon, Hezbollah attacked the northern regions of Israel with Katyusha missiles.
ISRAEL TARGETED BEIRUT
Israel targeted the Lebanese capital, Beirut, in retaliation for Hezbollah’s attack.
Hezbollah announced that 15 of its members, including Ibrahim Akil, were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut. Ahmed Wehbi, whose death was confirmed by Hezbollah, is listed as one of the group’s top commanders. Hezbollah said Wehbi was a top commander in the elite Ridvan Force.
31 PEOPLE DIED
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from Israel’s airstrikes on the capital Beirut has risen to 31, including 3 children and 7 women.
ISRAEL SHOTS SCHOOL IN GAZA
Initial reports indicate that 10 people, including children, were killed when Israel bombed a school in Gaza that was hosting displaced people.
