Every Tuesday, a training group for exercisers who live with various disabilities gathers in Pildammsparken in Malmö. One of them is Elin Andersson and the training has changed her life.
– I feel much better, says Elin Andersson in Efter fems Sverigesvepet.
Elin Andersson loves to train. She has found her thing in the training group organized by the association Just ordinary, which P4 Malmö house was the first to report on.
For me, the training means that it makes me feel much better and I meet new friends, she says.
Fast time helps
The group meets at the same time every Tuesday. They are a large group that meet and train together.
There are so many of us. We meet and walk together. If you are in a wheelchair, you roll forward. Everything is together, says Elin.
Just having a fixed time, place and day helps the participants to create routines. As for Elin, she has both started to sleep and feel better since she started in the training group. Best of all, she likes to warm up.
I love the warm-up with music and that we walk around Pildammsparken. We talk and joke and have great fun, she says.
Braving the winter darkness
Today it is warm and sunny in Malmö, but autumn is approaching. The cold and darkness that sets in during the winter is not something that stops Elin.
There are not as many, but we are a number who will come. And I’m always there every Tuesday, says Elin.
