The Barbie film adaptation failed for years before Margot Robbie stepped in as lead actress and producer and, together with director Greta Gerwig, brought a clever and entertaining fantasy comedy to the cinema, which turned into a pop cultural phenomenon Now Robbie is supposed to take care of the Sims.
Similar to Barbie, The Sims already have several years in production hell spent, although in this case a swimming pool without a ladder is a more apt image. Hollywood has been trying to bring the successful video game brand to the cinema since 2007. Under the umbrella of Amazon, the project is making progress for the first time in a long time.

As Variety reports, Electronic Arts, the publisher of the games, officially announced the film adaptationAmazon MGM Studios is working with Robbie’s production company LuckyChap Entertainment. Loki director Kate Herron will direct and co-write the screenplay with Briony Redman (Doctor Who).
The Sims is a life simulation that has been an integral part of the world of video games since 2000. Four main parts and numerous extensions have already been released. In the simulation, players can build their own houses, create characters and then experience the normal everyday madness.
How is this supposed to work as a film? Kate Gorman, who oversees the entire Sims franchise as general manager, is very vague about the specific plot. Instead, she promises many familiar elements from the original:
