(Finance) – The process of Acquisition of 41% of Ita Airways by the group Lufthansa enters the final phase, which foresees the completion of the requirements indicated by the EU Antitrust Commission that last July 3rd she expressed herself positively for the operation between the two airlines.
Among the conditions which will have to be satisfied, those concerning Lufthansa and pertaining to the opening of the routes operated from Rome to Washington, San Francisco and Toronto for the benefit of other carriers, and the transfer of slots on short-haul routes, which will have to be managed mainly by Ita. The European Commission has given sent to the Nocon company to verify the implementation of the commitments made by Ita and Lufthansa, including the transfer of 15 pairs of daily slots at Linate airport.
The closing of the agreement between Ita Airways Lufthansa is expected by December 2024 and will be accompanied by a capital increase of 325 million of euros paid by Lufthansa, which will thus acquire 41% of Ita.
