It may still take two months, but the municipality of Vijfheerenlanden is already itching. Words like ‘Pietjes’, ‘cadeautjes’ and ‘Sinterklaas route’ have been used all summer in the town hall. “You don’t just plan a national arrival,” says municipal spokesperson Karin van Londen. “You have to think about everything: from where the package boat arrives to the safety measures.”
