Diamond league fees rise to record high | Sports in a nutshell

The top international league in athletics, the Diamond League, will raise the bonus amounts distributed to athletes to a record high for next season, the league announced on Wednesday.

According to the league, the total amount of prize money will rise to 9.24 million dollars, or about 8.3 million euros.

A total of USD 500,000 is distributed in each competition of the league, and USD 2.24 million in the season-ending Diamond League final.

In each category of the Diamond League, the prize money is 30,000–50,000 dollars (27,000–45,000 euros), and in the finals the prize money rises to 54,000–90,000 euros.

In the Diamond League, the bonus amounts are the same for both men and women. The series, which started in 2010, will be contested for the 16th time next year.
