It has been revealed that iPhone 16 firmware can be restored wirelessly from another iPhone/iPad.
Discovered by 9to5Mac Accordingly, this system has been under development since 2020. If you have a problematic iPhone 15 or older model iPhone, you will need to use a Mac or PC to restore the firmware. This involves connecting the iPhone to the Mac/PC using a cable. iPhone 16 firmware can be restored wirelessly from another iPhone or iPad. The other device downloads new iOS software and transfers it to the broken device, eliminating the need to connect it to a computer. This iOS 18-based feature looks really useful. Apple itself says the following about the iPhone 16s: “Apple today announced the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, featuring a custom-designed A18 chip and new camera features that raise the bar on what iPhone can do.
