A resolution may be in the works for a Chatham man facing attempted murder and Arson charges.

Clinton Willder, 28, appeared briefly in a Chatham court by video link Tuesday.
Willder is charged with attempted murder, arson-disregard for human life and break and enter after a fire in Chatham’s east end March 10.
Court granted a request by Willder’s lawyer, who was not present, to have the matter return Sept. 24 after a resolution meeting with the Crown attorney.
Willder was returned to custody.
A publication ban bars reporting any evidence in the case during the pre-trial phase.
According to previously published reports, emergency crews called to a Park Street building fire about 8 am March 10 learned a male tenant was still inside. Chatham-Kent firefighters pulled him to safety.
“He was found unconscious with visible injuries unrelated to the fire,” police said at the time. “The man was immediately transported to the hospital for medical attention, where it was determined that the injuries were life-threatening.”
The investigation was turned over to the Chatham-Kent police criminal investigation branch, which identified a male suspect, who was arrested March 11, police said.
