The Ica group includes Ica Sweden, Icabanken, Apotek Hjärtat and Rimi. CEO of the ICA Group Nina Jonsson earns, just as you can imagine, a substantial amount of money.
In 2023, the ICA group had a turnover of a whopping SEK 148,159,000,000. Profit after net financial items was SEK 4,694,000,000 after the same period.

But Jönsson has had a far from spotless reputation.
In August 2024, it emerged that Ica – one of Sweden’s largest grocery chains – had made billions in profit.
The ICA group then reported an operating profit of SEK 2.2 billion for the second quarter, which can be compared with SEK 2.0 billion for the previous quarter.
Despite this, CEO Nina Jönsson could not promise a price reduction on the food products.
– We believe that customers will continue to have a tough time. An interest rate cut is expected, but it is still a high cost situation, she said then in an interview with TT.

At the same time, Ica Kvantum, Ica Supermarket and Ica Maxi ended up at the top of the list of grocery chains that increased their prices the most in 2024, according to Matpriskollen.

Now have News24 contacted the Swedish Tax Agency to see how much of the profit the Ica group’s CEO got to share in 2023.

During last year, Nina Jönsson had a fixed earned income of a whopping 9,548,000 kroner – that is nine and a half million kroner.
Evenly distributed over the twelve months of the year, the sum gives a monthly salary of approximately SEK 795,667.
During the same period, she had a capital deficit of SEK 133,346.
