Esa Lindell has signed a five-year contract extension with the Dallas Stars, for which the Vice-Captain receives an average of $5.25 million annually.

When the contract ends, the Finn will be 35 years old.

Lindell is the Stars’ key defender at low strength and, as a defensive back, an important link for the Texans crew. In view of this, the team’s executive director Jim Nill can be proud of the new graduate paper, where Lindell earns less annually than before.

The Finnish defender signed his previous contract – a six-year, 34.8 million contract – with Dallas in 2019. At that time, his annual salary was 5.8 million.

Last season, Lindell played 82 matches in the regular season, scoring 5+21=26/+17.
