Israel was behind the pager attack against Hezbollah in Lebanon, the New York Times reports, citing American and other anonymous sources briefed on the operation.
Small amounts of explosives are said to have been hidden by Israel’s Mossad intelligence service in pagers purchased from Taiwan by the Iran-backed group.
At least 2,750 people were injured and at least nine killed on Tuesday when the pagers exploded, according to Lebanese authorities.
