Man charged after collision in vehicle: Chatham-Kent police

A Wallaceburg resident faces charges after a man and woman clashed in a moving vehicle, Chatham-Kent police say.

Officers called to Center Side Road in Chatham Township 7:30 am Monday learned a struggle broke out in a vehicle when a woman argued with a man tried to call police, police said. The woman was able to get out of the vehicle and call for help.

Investigation revealed the man has been barred by court order from associating with the woman, said police, who found and arrested a suspect.

A Wallaceburg man, 34, is charged with two counts of assault police said. After a bail hearing, he was remanded into custody pending a Thursday court appearance.

Wanted man arrested after disturbance

A disturbance call led officers to a man wanted on warrants, Chatham-Kent police say.

Officers responding to reports of a man and woman arguing on Talbot Street East in Blenheim about 7 pm Monday saw a man trying to flee on a bicycle, police said.

The man was arrested nearby, police said. Investigation revealed he was wanted on outstanding warrants.

A Chatham man, 21, is charged with five counts each of possessing stolen property valued at more than $5,000, possessing stolen property valued at less than $5,000 and theft under $5,000, and single counts of fleeing police and dangerous driving, police said. He was held pending a bail hearing.
